Where are you located? I've only ever seen boring covers in the US, except occasionally for book club editions. Some of the later books got slightly better treatment.

I think they went through a phase of doing adult friendly covers and regular Pratchet covers in an attempt to broaden the appeal.

That is definitely not a current edition cover -- you'll note the burst about Sir Terry's new book "Thud!" The Discworld books started re-releasing in the U.S. and U.K. with a new design this year, though, and this is the U.S. version:
