At least with dressage they’re usually ok with chunky braids, at least in the US? The jumpers demand the teeny tiny ones…. I actually enjoy braiding but it’s fricking time consuming.

We don’t have to braid for show jumping. I was told there were supposed to be 12 braids, hence the chunks. But I wasn’t told until I was done that they are supposed to be on the right. I just got lucky that’s the side she wears her mane.
