I wanted something that I thought would be more interesting and less prone to abuse, but... We ended up with what went to print. It's a shame, because a lot of important features got reworked to make everything easy & trivial for players. I think we ended up with something lesser for it.

The Scum & Villainy system, where interstellar travel is powered by ancient alien technology which cannot be replicated, gives a balance where the party can acquire the means but no large force can easily be moved without clashing with the galactic government's overwhelming military forces.
