SCOTUS has made the single largest power-grab in the history of this country: the ability to declare an individual above the law. It's time for SCOTUS to be sharply reigned in with term limits, an expansion to mirror the # of circuit courts, & strict ethics policies that can result in expulsion.

... of that Debuff is applied to the opponent with equal duration and potency. If multiple Debuffs activate at once, the Reflection Passive will remove and copy all Debuffs at once. Each time this happens, one Refection Passive is removed. Cost: 100 counters.

The whirlwind of blades from SP2 lasts for 5.0 seconds, plus 1.0 seconds for every 20 counters in Spiral's Sorcery counter at the time of activation, but drains the counter to 0.

SP1 - Spiral's arms stretch & deliver 6 strikes in rapid succession. Each strike has a 55% chance to inflict a Trauma Debuff for the duration of the attack. SP2 - Conjures a whirlwind of blades that has a 150% chance to inflict Bleed every 2.5 secs, dealing 25% of Spiral's Attack over 4.0 secs.

This Nullify nullifies 2 additional Buffs vs. Cosmic opponents. Spiral's Nullify has a 150% chance to activate and has a cooldown of 6.0 seconds. Against Cosmic opponents, all of Spiral's attacks gain True Accuracy.

Here we go with the build: First, I would give her a Sorcery counter. She gains counters for blocking attacks, dexing basic attacks, and intercepting the opponent, even more for Well-Timed Blocks, and the most for dexing Special Attacks. At 100 on her Sorcery Counter, she can then cast spells.

This is also one of the major criticisms of progressive politics. The moment that they find themselves in the lead in the polls (let alone winning elections), there's a strong sense of, "We MUST appeal to centrists in order to get anything done." The Overton window shifts further to the right.

Bad equipment is one thing, but even a trained professional can compensate for bad equipment (at least to a point). The fact that Stormtroopers are *THAT BAD* demonstrates not just the influence of bad equipment... They're simply awful at what they're supposed to do.

I had a similar concept I wished to incorporate. Essentially, fleet-sized Stargates that the GM could place as appropriate to the story, that could facilitate intersystem travel as well as intergalactic travel, but were ancient, complicated to activate (with some defunct)...

Only sort of tangentially related thing... In 90s Nebraska, Exo Squad used to be the first show to come on @5AM when the local station started their programming for the day. They had a 3-part harmony female trio of the Star-Spangled Banner @startup that was gorgeous, & I want a recording of it!

I wanted something that I thought would be more interesting and less prone to abuse, but... We ended up with what went to print. It's a shame, because a lot of important features got reworked to make everything easy & trivial for players. I think we ended up with something lesser for it.

I did some of that when writing Starjammer, but some of the concepts I wanted to build in with limited ability to conquer neighboring worlds as a triviality and the possibility of limited, difficult, controlled intergalactic travel were rewritten to make both of those things easy... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Then again, I always wanted to play in the sandbox of the idea that different galaxies had their own variations on the physics that we know to be true in our own galaxy. I think it would be a narratively fun concept to play with.

Quite well said. I mean, you could have some unknown regions, but the longer FTL travel has existed for, the less likely there would be any. Wild, unpacified areas? Sure. Unexplored or unknown? Not bloody likely.

It's one of the bizarre conceits of stories told in space where interplanetary travel is ubiquitous. What's to stop some species from bearing down on a primitive planet over the weekend, attacking them, maybe conquering them, then being home in time to go back to their day job on Monday?

This is one of the problems, in general, with FTL travel and powerful empires in space. When interplanetary travel becomes trivial, interplanetary conquest becomes trivial. "Wanna go conquer that species with inferior tech in the next system over?" "Yeah, I've got time before lunch. Let's do it."
