I watched an old episode od HIGNFY the other day with BJ on it and one thing that struck me was... it just wasnt funny. And not just because of knowing what he's really like now. It just wasnt 'funny'... it was just novel at that time. Dorries etc don't even have that.

Johnson is "funny" in the context of the gentleman's club or the after dinner speech i.e. to (mainly) men of a certain type - never understood how he was supposed to have any more wider appeal. But like Dorries, he believes that his bubble is the rest of the world
