This Neil Gaiman podcast stuff is really sumpin'.
It makes a lot of sense to me, and I wonder how many people are biting their tongue.

Starting to develop a generally bad opinion of almost anyone with power.
Seems like basically anyone "in charge" of anything is greedy, selfish, happily complicit, and unimaginative.

The fundamental difference of believing in personal agency vs believing that someone shouldn't exist does seem to be important, and rarely stated.

I used to know graffiti writers who would do something similar, but it was about quantity (though that translates to weight) and they would cheat by using a shopping cart.
Still, not an activity for the faint of heart.

I divided ppl into 2 bins:
- Avatar-followers: shocked and scandalized
- Policy/ideology centered w/avatar being best fit: annoyed at judgement and cynical about structure
In general, the first is *always* greater, everywhere, also tend to be really loud and ranty.

The common nature of kicking the ladder in a nation ostensibly based on immigration is a deep paradox/unreconciled tendency.
But I'm just some rando with an account. I imagine people more well-versed in 20th c. geopolitics might have a very different answer.

When they became an organization that catered to acculturated Jews vs new immigrants. I think what we see now is all downstream of that, exaggerated by later events of course, but they were co-opted by status quo power a long time ago.

I'm suspicious of this.
I've thought for a while that more vicious pruning of the invite tree *maybe* could be effective, but it would massively slow user base growth. So it feels like one decent prong of a strategy but without follow through.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month.
Results showed that close to half of the participants secured housing, and nearly $600K saved in public service costs due to fewer ER visits & jail stays. They also saw improved mental health.
