When I see someone arguing for Biden to step down, my two questions are, 1. Do you know the history of parties whose incumbent has stepped down in an election year? and 2. Who exactly did you have in mind who'll likely beat The Other Guy? I don't regard the step-downers as serious people.

And yes, levels upon levels of amorality, although some fine SF writers- Elizabeth Bear comes to mind- have speculated on the sociological effects of a functional process that could make a person less of a sociopath. Not 'less of a criminal', note the distinction clearly.

Yeah, linguistics BA here, I can't speak for the rest of the brain but the language centers are not using algorithms except in the loosest "there is a process for doing a thing" sense. And there are "rules" but it's not deterministic. Once you get below "deep" sentence structure it's SUPER FUZZY.
