A good rule of thumb for New York elections is to always realize they pick the worst person they can find. Like if that astronaut who wore a diaper and tried to attack a woman ran in New York they’d be like wowza this lady is a realllll New Yorker
Like if Ilhan Omar was in New York and not Minnesota she’d be done for, they’d primary her and Scooter Cuomo would win even though he is currently getting his 12th dui
lucky me, my assemblymember and state senator are Good, Actually. for example, whenever i send one of those “please support/oppose” whatever emails, i always get the “thank you” template.
maybe the exceptions that prove the rule? everyone else i’m supposed to vote for stinks
Nobody believed me back when Hillary ran in '08 (or in '16) that this was the case. I forget the order but her Senate opponents were 'any female republican' and 'guy who beat his girlfriend in public'.
Winning any office in NY basically means you will never succeed anywhere else.
Just riffing on this to say that my brother was working at a network affiliate TV station in Houston the day that story broke. He called me that afternoon to say, "I am ashamed of what my workplace has become."
