Is he being surprised that a VP was chosen to achieve specific political goals? At the end of the day every VP is a DEI pick because there are no qualifications and the whole point is to achieve some political benefit. Biden certainly was chosen for his race.

Yes? It was a concentrated effort. And was widely reported to have been orchestrated by Obama behind the scenes. That's politics and is perfectly normal. Same with Hillary clearing out the field in 2016. That's part of the game.

I don't think it's some DNC thing, but Biden won one primary and everyone dropped out and endorsed him except the one candidate who would pull from Bernie. And that was after doing debates where they all refused to commit to the idea that the person who got the most votes should win the primary.

It's like they play completely different styles. Lot of passes to where someone should be, but that someone is doing something completely different. At least when the US was all about just being great athletes and trying to win by attrition it was a cohesive philosophy.
