You're conflating a few things, this will likely be a multi-part response. - you're missing the insistence on manchin keeping his seat. Many Dems have preached that it's imperative that manchin stay while also saying he's the barrier to progress. If he is the barrier to progress (continued)

Then what real use is he? He allows for judicial appointments is the answer. The problem is that judges are a long term game (one that the GOP has been playing for decades). What we need now is decisive action, which isn't possible WITH Manchin. So it's better to push him out rather (continued)
