justice system would be much better either. If the Pres gives an order and SCOTUS says that it is presumed to be legal. Then disobeying an "unlawful order" would essentially be denying the legality of presidential orders, basically a military coup if military leadership did it.

The US has passed laws basically saying that we will invade The Hague if the ICC tries to charge a US politician or military personnel. They effectively don't matter when it comes to the US (just stating facts, I'd rather it wasn't this way). I don't think that the military (continued)

Seems like the presumption is that anytime the president exercises their constitutional powers it is legal. Therefore, any command given by the president as commander-in-chief is by definition not criminal. So... Sounds like no such thing as an unlawful order if it comes from the pres.

But that's only one thing. There's tons of options available that won't be publicized. Have Biden order the CIA (official act) to do something covert about Trump/Thomas/Alito. It MIGHT come out before the election, but regardless is basically unprosecutable.

Simply put, neither the Supreme Court nor the Presidency should exist. In a modern country, they would have a constitutional court, and a prime ministerânot the king and clerics we are governed by. The American political system is outdated, corrupt, and ultimately not worth saving.

If any single SCOTUS judge went to the NYT, CNN, literally any press outlet and told them " I want to publish/have you report on something of national importance" they would immediately be able to. Alito has routinely used option pieces to respond to critics. All they need to do is tell the truth.

9 justices is good for making decisions though. I'd like to see a court of 27 justices with 9 randomly selected to hear each case. Make it unpredictable who will rule means each justice will have less power = less opportunities for corruption

I could say the same about your response? Not having blind loyalty to our politicians and actively holding them accountable is what is supposed to set us apart from them. This is no different, viewing parties or politicians as "teams" to be supported no matter what is terrible and must be avoided.
