They have never apologized or acknowledged what they did.

The longer version starts with Christine Maggiore, who was diagnosed HIV+ in 1992. In 1994, she encountered Peter Duesberg, UC Berkeley professor of virology who convinced her that HIV is a harmless passenger virus and AIDS is actually caused by party drugs or antiviral treatments.
