That might be true, but political consultants and operatives are very hit and miss with their understanding of the sort of voters who will decide this election. They might be right, I'm just not confident they are. And I don't know if it's possible to estimate without actually doing it.

Hard disagree. There's no cult of Biden. I think the answer, at least for me, is that we're in this now, the stakes are increibly high and the alternatives are unpredictable and risky, so we're rationalizing a situation there's no clear path out of.

My read on this election remains what it's been since about March 2021: both major party nominees have a floor of support high enough to have a good shot at victory. And that's way too high when one of them is a white nationalist authoritarian, a problem that demands addressing and won't easily be.
