There's a stable hexagon on Saturn's North Pole where each side is larger than the diameter of the Earth. It houses a swirling vortex 60 miles (100 km) high, with wind speeds of 220 mph (360 km/h). And we can't full explain it, although we're getting close. (📷: NASA/JPL, Cassini)

How is it that we saw a stable hexagon in the atmosphere of a gas giant and didn't stop everything til we figure THAT out? I know it's not aliens, but this one case really seems like aliens.

The hexagon was observed by Voyagers 1&2, but Cassini did multiple flybys with high res cameras, so we have data on depth, flow, velocity.

Using green dye in a 30L cylinder of water on a rotating platform, the model becomes clearer:
