yeah, it's really not an exaggeration, either. He had like 100 more fantasy points than the RB2 last year which is just nuts. I guess I have the next three in the same tier, though.

Yeah, it gets shaky pretty fast. I don't know that I'd have that many tier breaks among the top 4 or 5 guys, but after that... I guess I'm trying to diversify in best ball. In redraft I'll probably take an RB round 1. I'm a big fan of Breece Hall

I kind of wanted to say something like your original comment without how you've dialed it back in this follow-up. I don't want to own a house. I don't want to have to take care of all that shit. I like outsourcing the entropy. Are landlords as a class also bad? Yes, but I say this as a renter

Yes, and not just about the abhorrent content of the policy proposals. Trump as Pres was frustrated by career bureaucrats. Project 2025 includes a detailed plan for firing them and replacing them with cronies. It's hard to put this succinctly, but it is, in many ways, the most terrifying part

Project 2025 would reshape American life in a way that most people can't imagine. So, yes, hit them with it, but include how the overturning of Roe was something we couldn't imagine until they did it. We were naive. They mean it. They really do intend to do this shit that's beyond the pale

I can't believe I've been waiting over a week for ppl to stfu about replacing Biden and they won't stfu. Worrisome lack of discipline from the Dems. Any idea would be a clusterfuck yet ppl continue to engage the fantasy. So, OK. My idea is American Idol rules voting (and include Biden)

Someone mock up a little thing in blue and white with Biden as a corpse and Harris standing next to him that says Biden/Harris 2024 so we can unironically signal that we'd vote for the corpse of Biden over Trump. Maybe a little dash of red in there somewhere

Look at what they did to Henry Wallace in 1944. There was a chance for a timeline without a Cold War

You better run all day and run all night. Keep your dirty feelings deep inside. And if you're taking your girlfriend out tonight, you better park the car well out of sight. Cause if they find you in the backseat trying to pick her locks, they're gonna send you back to mother in a cardboard box

The awesome thing about these is that you should not flush them, but since you *can* in that they will go down the toilet, they get to call them flushable. America!

That's not a cynical take. That's just true! The cynical take is that they don't fucking care if Trump wins and maybe even want him to

Too sympathetic, and 2016 was already that. Trump winning in 2024 would be worse, don't get me wrong. It would be fucking catastrophic. But not taking the lesson from 2016... jfc

The 2000 election was terrible in a lot of ways, but one thing I think about sometimes is that maybe it's low key had an influence that it solidified GOP as red and Dems as blue. I prefer the color blue, as a color, but red is a stronger color in its associations

Having spent a good amount of time in the presence of an ardent Trumpist/QAnon, I found myself wondering what Project 2025 has to say about fiscal policy. You should know that these people are super serious about abolishing the Fed and putting currency on the gold standard...

Gore v. Bush on my list for when we entered the darkest timeline, particularly since I went to bed after the race was called for Gore and woke up to chaos. But if you want to go back further, top of the list is muckety-mucks replacing Henry Wallace with Truman as the VP candidate in 1944

Absolutely. And I get that Nader is shorthand for that. I just also think we can't presume "would have voted Gore" when likely many Nader voters wouldn't have voted at all. Anyway... remember when Gore kissed his wife on stage to distance himself from Clinton and it was super awkward? Good times

Nah. In retrospect 2000 was of course really important but at the time hardly anyone viewed it as such. Gore was intentionally boring. He chose Joe Lieberman as his running mate! Nader told ppl in swing states to vote Gore, who actually won the election but they stole it. Blaming Nader is facile
