I went the other way and just have Ubuntu (or on my private PC, Kali) as a WSL installation on my Windows. Means I can use my mostly-windows-tools for daily work use (respectively for gaming), and still enjoy all the Linux stuff I personally use on top of that. Not ideally, but eh, works.

I use WSL too, but I sometimes run into horrible headaches to solve, not least the fact that it can't share GPU memory which makes it useless for machine learning (which is my research)
