Again, selectively ignoring blatant corruption and the criminalization of the press because “oh well that’s just Mississippi, they should move out the state lol” is how you signal there’s no commitment at all for a true politics of solidarity, commitment to principles.

reminds me a bit of early in the pandemic when a florida department of health woman got raided by the feds for releasing actual covid stats for the state and a lot of people just went “well, florida” about it - criminalization of whistleblowers getting treated as Just The South ….. like. man
