Growing up means realizing you are going to hear educated, intelligent adults make dumbshit arguments like "let's get rid of the incumbent president after the primaries are already over" because they imagine that a more correct solution would be free of snares & complications

2016 permanently broke my assumption that any given person is capable of rational thought or emotional maturity until proven otherwise. Now I just assume most people are skittish little weasels who are self-interested in a purely animal way.

yeaahhhhhh My father and now a good friend (for different reasons somewhat) are on the side of "sure, we can replace him., we have to, he's senile and (friend says) he's always been terrible" It's not like we have to agree but like no one has any idea of yanno what to DO here
