I wouldn’t, no. It would likely have a serious negative impact on military recruitment and hopefully cause a sea change in both military culture and recruiting, and American culture at large. But no, I would personally love it and have advocated for it for a long time now.

Same for universal healthcare. I have government funded health care and it’s great, why wouldn’t I want everyone to have access to it?

I joined the Navy after I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Aquacultural Engineering. I didn't like my employment prospects, and went Radioman. Never regretted it.
