Thank you for this. I started a short story in the 80s with an idea I found challenging. Never finished. Last year, I realized who the characters were and what it was really about. It will be one of my best works.

Hearing Repo Man reminds me of its producer, the late Michael Nesmith. I cannot articulate how much Nesmith’s diverse body of work influenced my life. I will pledge this campaign to see another body of work fulfilled.

It's rather sad. My students are artists. Their literary skills run the gamut, but they do seem to be sliding overall. Between reduced HS expectations and COVID lockdown aftermath, there's atrophy at best. I'm often doing remedial triage with my basic essay students.
