Is that injury obviously a result of the physical strain from your 50hr work week? Probably. Does it count towards workmans comp? Obviously not, I wasn't at work when it happend. Duh.

Also it sucks when you bust your ass all week at work doing hard labour, then you go home for a long weekend and hurt your back while just trying to pick up your child for a hug.

Basicslly this person has faux media literacy. They've been indoctrinated into a belief instead of educated. And because of that they developed a lens to view film through unknowingly. Instead of developing their own, or even better the ability to swap through lenses when needed.

Just had a strong lesson in this. My current track record is that I get results if what I submit to requires them to read the manuscript. If they're reading a pitch, zero results. I need to get better at selling to the publishers aswell as improving my writing.

Random excitement projected to strangers, but a short story of mine was on the shortlist for the Alice Munro Award. And I got notes from one of the judges, bestselling author Genevieve Graham. I'll be riding this high all weekend. The notes were all amazingly helpful!

Honestly, when this happened to me they said their name was J. Satan, and I asked, "What's the J stand for?" they told me, "Just, I'm Just Satan." I thought it was suspicious, but I figured it would be rude to ask if they were actually, "The Satan."

A vampire horror novella, filled with gallows humour. It's set in Canadian cottage country, and I've submitted to Canadian agents looking for horror from a few agency's, and small Canadian horror publishers looking specifically for novellas.

I think for lots of people, an alternative avenue of distribution will need to pop up. The means of self publishing digitally is amazing, but could in time be flooded with AI trash that kills any trust in the self publishing sphere. Plus we can't trust that a distributor isn't going to allow---

Also, the jobs that aren't being filled in my area are the low paying, low skill jobs. You have a group raised being told "You want to grow up and flip burgers? Go to school and get a real job!"... and now those people are going "Where are all the burger flippers? No one wants to work now a days."

Something I try to point to when my bosses complain about this (they have a hard time hiring) is that the pool they want to hire from is the most educated generation. Why would someone with a 4+ years of post secondary education and student debt want to be a "Unskilled labourer"?

You know, on further thought, rather than completely rob players of agency in character creation, I'd do classes and one optional class would "Experiment gone wrong", where you can roll on random tables to create a character, but there would also be "Experiment gone right" where you pick and choose.

I'm thinking of self publishing a fantasy book as like a serialized zine and mailing it myself. Thought maybe it would be a fun novelty. Now I'm thinking it will be a practically a ticket of authenticity, because no AI Bro would put the work of printing and mailing it themselves.
