Every season/series I finish in 2024—The Bear S1: Stellar. Every episode is a perfect episode of TV in my opinion. The pacing, dialog, and cuts do an amazing job of making kitchen work feel as stressful as a fast-paced fight sequence. Made all the more compelling by amazing character work.

In Robert Evans’s podcast It Could Happen Here, he talks about how most of CA’s land is lived on by conservatives and how that would enable them to disrupt food, water, and supplies to major cities. Maybe that’s how, in the movie’s world, the state is claimed by Texan sympathizers?

Every season/series I finish in 2024—True Detective: Night Country: A solid addition to the anthology. I’ve never felt the series’ strengths lie in the narratives but rather the characters, and, in that way, this season delivers another compelling cast of deeply hurt people looking for purpose.

Every season/series I finish in 2024—One Piece S1 (Netflix): A great way to speed run someone through the first 40+ episodes of the anime and test their tolerance for One Piece’s weirdness. A fun time, but I don’t think live action can capture what makes One Piece so endearing.

Heads up if you use a PC with Windows 11: recent updates have put "Copilot" on your computer! This is Microsoft's new AI and it is integral to your OS; you CANNOT delete it! BUT! You can -disable- it. And since it spies on you, odds are you'll want to it! They don't make it easy, though.

I wonder if the trend is, in part, due to the growing challenges finding work (in all fields), and that frustration spilling out as resentment for the few people working (what some still think is) a “dream” job in games press. The issue started trending more in my feeds around the same 6 month time.
