And I don’t mean by that to say that I don’t understand that lots of people don’t like him, even lots of people that hopefully will vote for him anyway. I get that voting Joe is easier for me because I like him.

I like Biden. I’m glad he’s the candidate. I wish he was younger, but I appreciate that he brings a lifetime in Washington to the office. And I really don’t care how good he is or isn’t at debating, especially Trump style “debating”.

That makes sense. For sure I’ve never seen an Amazon van in town; 90% of deliveries come to the house USPS, the rest split between UPS/FedEx.

I think it’s location dependent to at least some degree. If I’m shipping a gift to family in bigger cities I get that delivered photo but never for deliveries to my small town home.

I know this game is so easy to play now that it's lost its spark, but imagine the reaction if AOC (or any Dem)'s Memorial Day post was a picture of her in a bikini and a "happy birthday to me! I've accomplished so much!" message with no mention of the day. There'd be congressional hearings.

I've seen the argument (Dr. Osterholm, I believe) that we shouldn't be calling the third dose a booster - it's a "three prime" vaccine that's not fully in effect until that third one.

So is Arthur C Clarke’s process from 2010 for making Jupiter fuse possible? As I understood it, it was increasing Jupiter’s density but not its mass. (“Possible” here assumes the basically magic technology of changing the elements into denser ones as a given.)

I’ve seen most of them. My kids found you in How the Universe Works and we’ve been fans ever since. I just really love that extra level of reply. Having n ot just “yep,” but “yep, and here I am talking in detail about why with animations” in your pocket.

We’re home, but should have stayed another night. The trip took an extra hour; roads from CP on were snow and ice. Wrecks everywhere, sliding all over the road. Never saw a plow, though, and the 511ia site cheerfully said green conditions the whole time. Maddening.

Iowa DOT really flubbed the first winter weather of 23-24. And on a holiday travel weekend. I wonder whether they’ve been hit with Reynolds style budget cuts? If tonight was a foretaste of the rest of the winter it’s going to be a mess out there.

I don’t pretend it was flawless (heck, I don’t challenge people who say it wasn’t good) but I loved Studio 60 and a lot of the reason why was Matthew Perry’s work bringing life and humor and heart to Sorkin’s idealized portrait of himself in Matt Albie. Way too soon. Rest easy, sir.
