Totally agree. Fence sitters are mostly people who don't pay much attention to politics though. A single debate may be a major factor in how they cast (or even not cast) their vote. You can't rely on them being well-informed. Anyone well-informed made up their mind long ago.

Many non-voters decided a long time ago that we hate Trump but also won’t vote for genocide. My dad, a lifelong Democrat, is not voting for a president this year because, “Biden has just killed way too many kids.” But go ahead, call us all “uninformed.”
