I just found out that Glad Day Books, Toronto's oldest queer book shop and a fixture of our queer landscape & community, is facing eviction. They're fundraising to stay in business. If you're able, please donate! Here's their donation site with more info. www.gladday.ca/savegladday

Patreon Sketch for @datban.bsky.social of Krinele in a pillow pile reading a book. It's a callback to a pic I drew for him about 18 years ago.
I have more slots for monthly sketches on Patreon! Normally these are bust sketches, but sometimes I go where inspiration takes me. patreon.com/jlbriere

To be honest, it almost sounds like you could put a live trap right on the kitchen counter and bait it with bagel crumbs with some success. Might at least be in view enough you'd notice it.

The good news is the mouse wasn't roasted, as the mouse was stuck in a spot blocking the entire thing from operating. The bad news is we don't make toast very often and the little thing didn't squeak in distress. =/

Oh this sounds like it's ending so very amazingly wonderfully much better than it did for the mouse that dug around inside my toaster looking for crumbs.

Hmmm. If it's just a chunk of your mind doing spinnies in the chair, maybe do the spinnies? Try to focus on the spinnies. Get the brain to rebel against the spinnies and maybe get distracted by work.

Very much so... I've had people ask me about games they've seen me play, and my response is "Well, I enjoy it. You might or might not." It's annoying that people come back complaining to me when we clearly have different tastes.

Personally, as a viewer, I find the system just obnoxious, ugly, and in the way. It makes it even harder to browse point redeems with that notification almost always there. Would be nice to cut it as a viewer without resorting to something like customizing ublock.

This table resulted in a fascinating discussion on the author's categorization of Uranium in one of my circles.

Yeah. Feels like a brain going: "Is this sketch really good enough to be colored? Would they have chosen to do so, having seen it?"

Honestly, except in extreme circumstances I wouldn't know if I want an upgrade until after the sketch anyhow. If the idea is to get you money, I'll just pay for tiddums, maybe some booty.

I fear this list includes "the hospital staff member that's been there since 4-5AM and wants to get appointments booked before lunch, so the rest of the world gets to suffer"

Hey, writers! A startup called Dashtoon (a webcomic creation platform) is approaching authors with license offers. Writer Beware would love to see a contract, so if you've been offered one, and are willing to share (in confidence), please email me: beware@sfwa.org . Thanks!
