As @joshchafetz.bsky.social says, this is a massive election year gift to the Republican Party. Instead of the consequences of right-wing extremism being fully on display, the story will be a "muddled legal landscape" with the suggestion that federal law can save us from red state legislatures.

I think it needs to be framed by Democrats as the Biden Administration is saving lives. No matter how long it lasts, lives will be saved thanks to President Biden.

It depends on the work that goes on in states. Here in AZ, I have confidence in our initiative process to make the issue highly salient in the fall.

It also shows divide between party-service wing of GOP on Court and burn it down wing. What does Elie Mystal say: do you want to be mauled quick by a lion, or slowly picked at by a ---- (can't remember - an animal that kills slowly).
