Is Trump not testifying where he can be cross examined but then doing so in a public forum something that the prosecution can lawfully raise, and question the reliability of, in their closing statement?

Hi Andrew, Is accessory after the fact a thing? If so, it would be great for the DOJ to investigate FSW Canon for exactly that. ;-)

And because there are lots of people who are eager to do so in hopes of gaining Don Snoreleone's favor.

Local news said 31 thousand cars crossed the Key Bridge daily. Thankfully, this tragedy did not occur at rush hour.

I participated in a forum about the Potomac Yards arena proposal tonight in Alexandria. Another panelist called me a fearmonger.

You are more optimistic than I. I see the the gang of six concluding that Trump was acting in his official capacity and was/is therefore immune. They might agree that ordering Seal Team 6 to take out your opponent is not within the scope of the president's official duties, Thomas/Alito dissenting.

Have any of you written about the Homeland Security v. State of Texas case And Abbot's argument that Texas has a right to defend itself from invasion because the Fed. Gov. has not done so?

At any point did anyone even try to suggest that the DA was involved in any behavior that was relevant to the actual charges their clients face? To this laymen, the whole thing was an excuse for not particularly skillful lawyers trying to smear the DA with innuendo. And mostly failing at it.

My hot take. I have spent time listening to Fani Willis' testimony. Our justice system is lost beyond repair that this bullshit happens. Lawyers are the cause of this. They will say vigorous defense is their duty. This is not vigorous defense. This is throw shit at the wall to see what sticks.

Trump will escape justice because two people lied about having an affair neither of whom had anything to do with his criminal activity. I see nothing to celebrate in that.

If you were reading the tea leaves, how would you interpret this inaction by SCOTUS? To me it means that the conservatives can't or haven't yet devised some nonsense argument for Trump being immune so they are giving themselves more time to do that, and at the same time giving Trump a delay.

Passing laws to make things illegal that are already illegal, like non citizens voting, seems to be about the only legislation MAGAts care to try to enact.

I think you are right about the spending. Giving a Senate majority to the Republicans would be turning over the judiciary to the FedSoc for the next 50 years, and result in a dystopian nightmare like in the documentary "Idiocracy". ;-)

I didn't vote for Hogan either time, and won't vote for him for Senate, but he was a far better governor than I ever imagined he would be. He has not been a Trump toady but as Senator that might change. David Trone has been running ads for months with no opponent in sight as far as I can tell.

Does such a decision make possible appeals on the grounds of selective prosecution? Bannon is likely to die of old age before he serves time for his crimes. It seems "justice delayed is justice denied" has a corollary "punishment delayed is justice denied."
