Can the Sustainable Development Goals be made smarter? Talks on a post-2030 future for the SDGs have not yet officially begun, but b/c adjustments to them can't be made quickly, the earlier these discussions can begin, the better.

In the article, it would be great if the author could note that there is now an official maximum depth for Challenger Deep of 10,935 +/- 6 m as explained in Greenaway, et al. (2021), Deep Sea Research Part I: Oceanographic Research Papers, 103644, doi:10.1016/j.dsr.2021.103644.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has posted a new Heat Risk forecast map showing where people will face dangerous levels of heat, such as entire southern US. Phoenix, AZ set a new daily high of 112F (44C) last Thursday.
