I'm glad you're finding your feet here (weta notwithstanding). I've heard that it's tough for incomers to get passed the surface friendliness of Kiwis to develop true friendships, so it's not a 'you' thing! I think it's a reluctance on our part to risk intruding. Keep at it - you'll get there. 🙂

Yeah I have met some other expats that say the same thing. I’m here for the long haul so I’ll keep trying. I’m sure I’ll find my people someday, just working on making myself get out there so I have a chance of meeting them.
