No and yes. As an intern and then after law school, I worked on state constitutional challenges to education funding and abortion restrictions. That’s where I first learned anything about state constitutions.

Those are definitely areas where state constitutions can be important. And we are going to see more in the coming years, given where SCOTUS is headed. I think more lawyers should be aware of what state constitutions can do.
