They want to take away overtime pay
“How many hours did you work this week?”
“60”
“Well well well looks like we only need you for 20 hours next week, so no OT, sorry about that”

All of the changes to abortion are a giant affront to most rabbi’s teaching that life begins at the first breath after birth. They basically destroyed Jewish women’s ability to do family planning according to their own religious traditions, but Christofascists don’t actually care.

GWB and Clinton were Govs, as were Reagan and Carter, mostly I just want to make sure any president has either high level State or National exposure first (and no ‘businessmen’ ever again)

it’s the incredible downside of SOCs (system on a chip) that every part that was separable in older computer designs is fully soldered together and on a single integrated board or conjoined boards. Upsides are super low latency and better buses, downside is zero repairability and upgradability

Oh, what’s next 6 month paternal leave and 1 year maternal leave? (It should be yes, but these aren’t the folks that want to be caught holding the bag for it)

Yeah, but we’re in the high strung, high engagement set, we are not like the usual normies. It’s very different but it is heartening to see people coming around to our POV.

It IS a big deal, and any way people wake and realize that we have to band together and defeat this is a good thing.

Was a bit worried about all of the 'promotional tie in stuff' they were hyping last year, the actual sets they have released have been really good, 'Wild West', good, 'Make Magic 1998 Again (Modern Masters 3)' was also fun and had lots of visual jokes I lol'ed at, and next set seems solid as well.

That to me is the crux of the dual prongs of open source/ repairable devices, not that EVERYONE will be responsible for maintaining there own devices, but that they can be maintained efficienctly and locally, with less waste.

we want the manly science Seth, you know the rockets and the invincible super weapons, not the you know, stuff that says ford f-350's are killing the earth and that oceans aren't supposed to 120 degrees F in the summer. </s>

or, you know, not rasmussen or any of the cottage industry of ratfuckers trying to cook up favorable data rather measure the actual mood. everyone seems to be tired of waiting for water and trying to make it rain.

Every one of those people took the temperature of things, and opted to stay out of the race and were very frank about Biden being the nominee. Every person who is *certain* that we lose with Biden at the top ticket I want ask them, 'So because Biden is old now you are voting for Trump?'

At last, all it took was an insurrection that many were denying happened before, during and after it happened to break through to many other people that Repubs are doing the things they say they are doing, and they will continue to more, and worse, if given the ability to do so.

'trumps' platform gave reporters enough covering fire to pretend it's different' is too honest to be a headline though.

My reflexive buddhism says we seek out what we want to find, and if we find misery at every turn we have to ask why we search for that? In that way positivity and intentionality can be instructive, cast off cringe and find the things that make you feel better, you already stated things you value!

Yep, outside of a miracle technology that could halve atmospheric carbon in a decade, but we’re over 420 ppm where the baseline of the last 250,000 years is hovering between 200-250ppm.

The more recent geological data I've seen showed that sea levels are a majorly lagging indicator of warming. So all of the 'Inconvient Truth' stuff was probably correct about extents but drastically wrong about how long it would take to happen.

Maybe... that's a good thing? Times like this we begin to realize why even Manchin eventually had to fold and support the IRA.

Back to lesson one losers. If you don't want to be a loser learn to live lesson one. Trump is an adjudicated rapist, felon and he wants to fucking destroy YOUR life, act appropriately.

my first visit back east a VERY long time I noticed how the extremes of the northeast and pacific northwest really have the same feel, a lot of the same timber both trees and people oddly enough.
