yeah, when I’ve lived other places everyone just was fine with it, like when I was younger, people just got nakeder sometimes and no one made a thing of it. if it’s just a thing friends do in a place it becomes that more than the sexual or intimate components that are part of the culture here

we just had one in every neighborhood I stayed in and would stay in them when visiting other cities sometimes. you can usually watch tv a sleep in the dry sauna/hangout/cafe area

I have been to limited ones worldwide, mostly asia, but in some neighborhoods they are just the bath that people take. their houses might just have a shower, so there are different tubs to soak in, dry and wet saunas, a place tk get all you skin scrubbed off by an old person in their underwear, etc
