There's a lot in this paper, but a few main takeaways: 1) the populist media bashing resonates; 2) the problem is bigger than media credibility/trust - it's about hate & nationalism; 3) journalists are imagined not only as bad professionals but as *bad people & bad citizens* >>

We asked 1200 people a simple question: What characterises journalists in Israel? The (wild) responses included "funded by foreign agents", "Israel-hating lefties","encouraging Israel's enemies" - all core messages of the campaign Netanyahu & his allies lead against the media >>
