It was a pleasure to be the Guest Editor for all these fantastic stories and poems 🙏. The writers took Anachronism through ghosts, gods, and a sentient cargo container. Definitely a roller coaster of all the feels.

Today's story recommendation is a poem because I said so. @armori.bsky.social's "A Record of My Emperor After the Elixir of Life" in @apparitionlit.com, which is everything you could possibly want in conflicted pining and delightfully squishy biological metaphors.

Profoundly sad to hear @apparitionlit.com will be closing at the end of this year. I've enjoyed their work, discovered amazing stories in their issues, and they were an inspiration as I planned my own journal launch.
Kudos to everyone, and hugs. I'm sure it was a difficult decision and a sad one.

Apparition Lit published my 1st paid story, in their very 1st issue. They were enthusiastic, supportive, professional--the best experience a brand-new author could have. They've published beautiful stories, but more importantly, they care about their writers. I'm truly saddened by this news.

and another SF/F mag closes. this is so sad - it was an honor to appear in Apparition & I've always enjoyed their poetry section (better than that of many pro mags imho!). please read their full announcement, esp. for the reflection on how semi-pro venues are too often sidelined & ignored.
