As one of the last draftees (June '72) I am conflicted by this. The draft sucked but the military got better qualified peeps for all sorts of jobs. Today's enlistees are often not suited for military service and I think that explains, in part, the high level of suicide in the military.

Remember when we were told by Wall Street that the US would be in recession now? You know why they said that? So the Fed would be forced to reduce interest rates, so big biz could make higher profits. Reducing the cost of borrowing money does not mean prices go down, only that profits go up.
