Just thinking, if publishers are going to be putting out adult GNs... I do hope some will have nonbinary characters that are older than 30 and don't look androgynous. It's a bit much to hope for in TV & movies, but it's not too hard work in at least one or two such characters into a GN.

Politely - I remember the days of 'creative' websites. I am old now. I do not have the patience to hunt around for the info I want, trying to read fancy font at -2 size, while shiny things whiz around the screen. It's bad enough with all those popups asking me to join email lists before I go 😅

I grew up with something like that. But I just literally saw a guy climbing the pole outside and connecting cables in the rain (at least they weren't electric wires). So um. I think it's fine to take a shower (indoors, obviously) when there's a thunderstorm.

I’m really heartened to see two recents posts about trade publishers moving to do adult GNs. I do hope we see more of those soon! Maybe I should figure out if I want to retool my adult GN pitch. But I’d need to change the characters for that, & idk if I wanna do that story without them 😅

P.S Yeah, we gotta make our own promos. Sometimes we get ready-made graphics (yay!) and suggested text to go along. Sometimes its suggested text only. Sometimes it's nothing at all. I'm trying my best to not bore you, but I'm not good with making Canva marketing pics (in Photoshop 🤣).

It depends. Most of the time I just get mopey in private and wait for it to pass. There’s a couple of special cases where it’s turned into something else over the years. I just manage it quietly (i.e periodic vents in private chats!)

I have been hearing crossover fiction lately but I am not sure if this is NA rebranded.
TBH I don't really know why we can't just can't just call YA 'teen' fiction - that's who it's for and what the characters age ranges should be. #kidltichat

There isn't exactly what you're mentioning, but I know Orcas has their hi-lo line (high interest, low uh... barrier to reading?).
It is easier to read books meant for readers who may be older but have difficulty reading age-appropriate books. IDK why more pubs don't have such lines / #kidlitchat

I just go with what I know the industry wants (from me); I know where my own art goes as far as books go (and where some just don’t coz well, again, industry norms).

idk about diligent, but I just got used to separating things out so I can feel more whole, I guess. It was sad not being able to like or make certain kinds of art on here, so it helps to have another one to express that side.
