I sometimes use a timer, other times I hyperfixate on certain music. So then at the end of the album, before playing it again, I have to take a stretch break. It's ALL about tricking my brain to start working and then to stop working again.

It usually takes until 3-4 weeks into the semester before my students realize I'm serious when I say their mental and physical health is way more important to me than their art.
Basically, I'm trying to teach them the mindsets I am trying to convince myself of now lol #KidLitArt

I was just thinking about how I tell my students to get into the practice of taking breaks NOW because not taking them is a hard habit to break.
"supposed to" is just sometimes not enough motivation.

Do I take intentional breaks? I should. Do I take executive dysfunction/anxiety procrastination pauses? More frequently than I should.
What stops me from actually planning them is that I constantly feel behind.
