🚨 Once again, last month's global temperature set a new record high. This time for the month of June. Of course, this is contributing to the unusually warm summer temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere too.

The quiet melt season continues in the #Arctic with large regional variability in the spatial pattern of sea-ice concentration. This is partially due to some (relative) thicker ice toward Siberia.

That is a feature that is more visible in long-term trend plots (e.g., over 30 years), but not always in the monthly/interannual variability of surface temperature anomalies due to the regional influence of weather.
