PSA: All #rstats package on #cran will get an official DOI!
This will facilitate bibliometrics and giving credit to R package authors.
Registering all 20,000+ packages will still take a few more days. But the first couple of thousand are already live. Example:

Ever since the Posit Primers were retired in 2023, I've been looking for a replacement for interactive in-browser #rstats tutorials. Thanks to the magic of webR and {quarto-webr} and the fact that the original primers are open source, I made a new #QuartoPub + webR version! r-primers.andrewheiss.com

yes, if you can supply a minimal reproducible example on Github, I'll be happy to look into it.

Also, the buns at Satay Brothers are a crowd favorite. They have a stall at Marche Atwater.

Last year there was a bar on a boat in the canal at the back of Atwater market. Nice place for a drink if it's not too hot out (no AC)

MAC is closed for renovations u fortunately. They have a ~5 room space in the basement of a shopping center. Would not be my first choice for a tourist.

Sorry, I never really use `gt`, so I'm probably not the best person to answer this. FWIW, my guess is that this would be pretty easy with tinytable::format_tt()

Ha! I thought about it, but no. I feel it makes more sense to let the website be a "living" thing, evolving with the software. It already has like 25 chapters...

Thrilled to teach my @StatHorizons course "Interpreting and Communicating Statistical Results with R," from June 18-21.
Last edition was a blast, thanks to amazing participants. I'm super excited to meet the new group!

I endorse r2u in the **strongest** possible terms. It's a game changer for Ubuntu+R workflows, especially when you need to deploy fast.

Happy to share that #r2u now provides #Ubuntu 24.04, #BioConductor 3.19, and of course #Rstats 4.4.0.
20.7k CRAN packages, and 400+ BioConductor packages as `apt` binaries with fast and full resolution of all dependencies.
#r2u: Fast. Easy. Reliable. Pick All Three.

I don't disagree. But FYI, you can also do: sort_by(mtcars$cyl, -mtcars$mpg), and also use arbitrary functions to sort vectors and lists, which makes the function very flexible. The tilde trick is only really important when there's a `subset()` call before.

Fair. I've played a lot with formulas so I'm used to dot as "everything". But yeah, "." vs. "_" is kind of tricky, though in this case I think "data=_" is actually superfluous and the command would work anyway.

Exactly my feeling. Can't count the number of times I hit my head against that wall. I plan to revamp my course material for the fall and teach this to my students.

The new `sort_by()` function in #RStats 4.4.0 is a nice alternative to `dplyr::arrange()` for pipe-based workflows.

Interesting! But why not use the native functions format_tt() and style_tt()? If it works it works, of course. I'm just curious.
