Planting trees is not the same as preserving the complex ecosystems that are fully grown & have been absorbing carbon from the atmosphere for years. In the latest
BBC Panorama documentary, Kaya Axelsson highlighted the importance of preserving these ecosystems. 1/2

There are many other good reasons to invest in high quality credits of many kinds other than to offset towards an organisation’s own operational net zero target. Kaya Axelsson was on Panorama and highlighted this difference: 2/4

There is a very limited but critical role for the use of high-quality credits to balance the hardest to abate residual emissions to meet #netzero targets. & these credits have to meet a very high bar to sustain net zero. Last night, Kaya clarified on BBC:
