Hmm, this WIP mini is looking kinda shit and it's bothering me. I should probably push on and at least get the base coats finished, but instead I'm just going to thrown Nuln Oil all over the metals I've already painted so they look less like arse.

Quick health update, I appear to be on the mend from the bad spell that absolutely wrecked me these past few weeks. I've had a few consecutive nights of relatively decent sleep and I'm not constantly popping painkillers (at least any more than I usually have to.)

Nah, I get it. Painting MESBG minis (and historicals for use with MESBG) has been a nice change of pace from modern Warhammer sculpts. Even the new ones have sensible levels of detail because they can't randomly give Elrond a bunch of pouches and purity seals.
