People on here who are deprived of their mental faculties say that "if Israel wanted to commit a genocide it would" well what is this exactly? How would you describe the near total destruction of Gaza City and the near total destruction of our ability to make food? The murder of 15,000 children?

1) The perpetrators and their enablers don't get to manipulate us when we label their blatant crimes. 2) But if we decide to accommodate that gaslighting, then Ethnic Cleansing it is! Some of us still remember the former Yugoslavia.

I think the answer is people think it's not genocide unless you kill literally everyone, or are at least made a credible effort to kill literally everyone, and have not thought through the very good reasons international law does not define it that way.

it all seems to be a mix of "cannot actually truly wrap their heads around what's already happened" (if genuinely interested in caring at all) and "what i mean is nukes" and they're not going to drop nukes because then they can't fucking build on the goddamn land, which is what they want.
