Are you unfamiliar with latkes, aka "potato pancakes"?

Oh I am and while I appreciate my Jewish friends inviting me to partake in their traditions and celebrations the latkes proves my point. They are not pancakes any more than cakes and that is not what potatoes are for!

There used to be a Czech restaurant in town, they had *lovely* potato pancakes, with sour cream and applesauce and dangit now I'm hungry.
