Yay America, but we are all catching on the “freedom” is now a synonym for “selfish.” The nations that seem to be flourishing aren’t fighting each other from within; they’re compromising so they can work together and get along, making things better for their children. Haven’t heard that in a while.

Check out the amazing collection “Stories of Your Life” by Chiang. It opens with the story of a mason who climbs the many stories of the Tower of Babel because they’ve built it so high now they’ve hit a ceiling of stone, and need him to get through it. Spoiler: he does. Mind blowing fiction.
