As someone who studies government, I want to say as clearly as possible that Trump 2.0 will not be the disorganized shitshow that the first term was. They have a credible plan to govern in an explicitly authoritarian model.

I recall pretty consistent stories that Trump was, for the first couple of years, genuinely scared he was fucked by everything his gang was advising him to do. He was actually hesitant. But by the end he began to feel being president makes you invincible and nobody can stop you.

This, 1,000X. We were spared the worst of it because it was disorganized. But his sycophants have formulated plans and just as importantly figured out how to get him to go along with them. "Trust us, this will get rid of the brown people," etc. knowing that he cares nothing about the details.
