Love how “teaching stuff I don’t like” is somehow indoctrination, but requiring kids to swear allegiance to a flag* or somesuch isn’t. *i know that’s no longer the case, but them’s the folks that want that coming back.

After every other scandal, I just keep waiting to learn some reason Fred Rogers was a monster. Instead, everything I hear makes me respect him more. Like the reason he would articulate that he was feeding his fish was a fan letter he received from a blind girl early in the series asking about them.

I just don't get how you can watch Mr. Rogers and think "yes, this is harmful to children" Like, the level of psychological damage that must have been inflicted on such a person must be extraordinary
