Some of the modern hatchbacks are like that, basically crossovers. But I grew up in the 80s and my first car was a mazda hatchback. It was in no way a truck. Plus the ford focus is so nice (now discontinued like all ford sedans). I even had a Ford Focus Electric in 2015

Yeah, but in my eyes a hatchback was always like a wannabe to the station wagon, and well Crossovers! back to my original point. A crossover is an SUV trying to be a Sedan, a Hatchback is usually a coupe trying to be an SUV. OF COURSE it achieves the final form of what is legally a "light truck"
