Apparently, you don't need to know how government is supposed to work to get elected to govern.
It doesn't help that the electorate doesn't know what the elected are supposed to know either.

Certainly, no argument about that, but they are different tools used to achieve similar results. Splicing is certainly risky given what is not known about the genome and the effects of epigenetic factors.
It can only improve, providing it doesn't lead to an unintended catastrophe.

Monks and agriculturalists have been genetically modifying crops for a few hundred years. Only recently have they started directly tinkering with the genome.
Patience was once the only method. Now it's programming a shortcut. Patience and diligence are needed more than ever.

Considering that the germ from GMO crops planted in an open field and is soon dispersed, by natural means, "into the wild" to interact with non-GMO crops. I'm not sure that they can be avoided.

I can't stop thinking about this. A guy running for President is a rapist, has 91 criminal counts, is a scammer, and is incoherent on stage, but the GOP would rather have him be the pick over someone with nearly indistinguishable (hateful) stances but who is also a woman, and one of color.

And it required a "think tank" to figure this out? Politicians are quick to point fingers at the other party without any in-depth analysis. No such analysis should have been necessary.
In my opinion, companies hid behind the political shit-fighting and took advantage to increase profits.

It never hurts to increase one's vocab. Even if they didn't know what "gyre" meant or how to pronounce it, it would lend a bit of cleverness to the title. I would think that if you wrote it, you could name it "Fading Pansies" and folks would read it. I would.

If running the cleaning cycle doesn't clear it, try this:
1. TURN OFF THE PRINTER
2. Place a damp paper towel under the jets.
DO NOT RUB THE JET OPENINGS just set them on the paper towel. After a few minutes remove the towel. You should see ink that has wicked out. Soak longer if no magenta.

Some printers have a control interface that shows the ink levels. If it shows that you have ink it's likely gummed up. I've had this problem. It turns out that even printing monochrome uses the tiniest bit of color ink. The opening of the jets keep a trace of ink. That ink dries eventually clogging.

My wife has natural platinum gray hair. It started a natural blonde, went gray as she aged, and ended up nearly white. In the last few years, it has developed tight curls, starting in the back and progressing to the sides. She is still straight on top. No need for perms or coloring. A natural cutey.

Were Alfred Hitchcock or Stan Lee particularly photogenic?
It would be like putting your signature/thumbprint on a work that you are proud of.
