The Brexit turnout was 72%, higher than any election since 1992. But in London and the South that day it was raining like God was planning another flood. We canvassers were in wellies, ponchos, and any gear we could find. I've rarely seen that much rain. www.statista.com/statistics/1...

I remember friends after the result came out saying that they'd expected Remain to win and if they'd realised how close it was they'd've made the effort to vote, and that really stayed with me and has probably influenced my understanding of the turn-out. I may just have unusually apathetic friends
