Begging you to read this if you question if or why Pride is necessary and if you're too lazy to read this much vulnerability here's the tldr: Without visibility and celebration of queerness, in isolation bigots can convince you that queerness is wrong, something to purge by -any- means.

I work in a VERY personal & intimate job - bra fitting as well as prosthesis for not only survivors but also those seeking to look & feel more like themselves. It was humbling & highly emotional. Anyway, after all that I just wanted to say; thank you for your thread. Happy Pride! 🌈🤍🩷🩵🤎🖤❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌈

This lady had had such a good experience with me that she wanted to ask me as well if she could bring her daughter next time to this safe space for her first bra fitting. I was beyond moved because I aspire to help others feel safe. /3

She then went on to say she has a kid, just turned 17 who came out as trans when she was 15 & has been taking steps to transition. But unfortunately she had been at a Pride event at the weekend & her plus her friends were made to feel less than they are because of slurs shouted at them 2/

So I had an interesting encounter at my workplace today. I'm wearing my rainbows as part of Pride this month & a lady asked me: ally or part of the community. I kinda froze a bit then explained that I'm demisexual etc & she asked if she could hug me because 'thank you for being you' 1/

The hospital picked up 3 separate cardiac events during her last overnight stay (heart murmer). So just waiting for more info once they've spoken to my sister

Update on my mum. She's been seen by the 'memory clinic' but because there's deficits they're reaching out to discuss in person with my sister. She's also been put on a heart med as after years of saying her heart felt weird at times.

I find it really weird in places where I'm told keep the shoes on..... I should note, I do like house slippers/slipper socks & actually keep a basket at the door for visitors to the house here.

Scottish woman living in Canada here. Being brought up in the UK, the majority of people had something to put shoes, coats, bags etc. You were either told (if ignorant) or did without prompt. My MIL from a Polish background has similar & all her kids have the same thing too, including my hubby.

Still waiting for my mum to be seen but she's recently came back from holidays & in high spirits at least. As for me; size increase in the lump. I know it could just be a benign cyst but I'm already doom & glooming. But. Best prepare for the worst/Hope for the best. Come on July 29th already...
